The Department - DBE
In 1973, the Department of Business Economics under University of Delhi pioneered the Masters Program in Business Economics. Since then the Department has become a centre of excellence, imparting quality education to the students. The eclectic blend of faculty, academicians, researchers and professionals drawn from India and abroad, with their vast pool of managerial expertise distinguishes the Department from others and gives it an exalted stature. Today, with the course transformed in to MBA in Business Economics, it boasts of an illustrious alumni base of over a thousand individuals who have made their mark in various capacities in the corporate world as well as in the academia.
The Club - BlueChips
In the modern age of connected markets, the deep knowledge of managing money and investments require extra efforts outside the classrooms. And to do this, the students of the department conceived The Finance Club - BlueChips. The club explores various financial practices from a practical point of view to add to theoretical knowledge. Once again, the tools of lectures, competitions and quizzes are employed to develop an understanding of various aspects of finance, thus enabling the students to pursue coveted careers in finance.
The Team
Namrata Sharma is a Financial service professional with 3 years of Industry experience. She has worked as Senior Risk Analyst with XL Group (Global insurance and reinsurance company) and as an Associate with ICRA Limited (a subsidiary of Moody’s Investors Services, International Credit Rating Agency). She is a graduate in Commerce [B.com (H)] from Lady Shri Ram College for Women. She has won international and national level accolades in Dramatics and fine arts. She has spearheaded and organised
Priyanshi has graduated from Hans Raj College in 2013 with a B.Com(Hons) degree. Subsequently she work with EY in Audit and with a Start-up as an Accounts Relationship Manager before joining DBE. Apart from interest in Finance, she has a keen interest in arts and handicrafts which prompted her to start a new arts society in her college during graduation.She also enjoys playing Lawn Tennis, and Cycling.
A graduate in Business Economics, Piyush has past experience with Market Research and has a string aptitude for mathematics and statistics. He also follows football religiously and looks for connections between data analysis and football.
Passionate, confident, responsible, patient – is all what defines Sonali. She has been a school topper with 100% marks in Mathematics. Besides it, be it being the school head girl, hosting functions, participating in debates, organizing events, social welfare activities or learning foreign language, she has always been enthusiastic for learning and developing new skills.
Coming from a Defence background, she has had her schooling at a number of places all over India. Inspite of frequent moves, she was chosen to be a member of the Prefectrorial Board and subsequently the House Captain in her final year at school. She pursued B Com (Honours) at Hansraj College, Delhi University and graduated in 2015.
